Chelsea Are Finally In Form

Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-0 in a FA cup third round. Chelsea weren’t at there home ground so had to play even better at Crystal Palace Stadium. Chelsea haven’t been successful in the Premier League so far, as a fan it is a delight to see them go through to to the next round.

Who scored?

Oscar scored a cracking goal to start Chelsea off in the 29th minute. The goal was important because it kick-started Chelsea’s rhythm. Willian made a great impact in the game when he came on and scored in the 60th minute. Diego Costa finished off the game in the 66th minute bringing the game to bed.

If the game was set at Stamford Bridge Stadium no you think it would have made a different impact  to the game?

I don’t think it would have made a difference because Chelsea play well at home and looking at the game we played really well. It wouldn’t have mattered where we had played.

Did Russian Athletes Use Drugs?

1500m runner Kristina Ugarova and 800m runner Tatyana Myazina are two Russian runners facing a lifetime doping ban. They claim they’re innocent and threatened legal action to clean their names.

Did Russian athletes use drugs?

Russia have been accused of using performance enhancing drugs and have been banned until further notice.

Will Russia compete in the future?

Russia have been temporarily banned by the IAAF and might not be able to compete in this year’s Olympics in Rio.

What evidence have we got on Russia?

Dick Pound the Independent Commission Chairman stated that “we have found cover ups, destruction of samples in the laboratories, payments of money in order to conceal doping tests.”

My View

You’re meant to do the right thing and taking drugs will improve your natural performance. I think that it’s selfish and it sets a bad influence on young kids.

Pep Guardiola On His Way To The Premier League

Pep Guardiola said he is leaving Bayern Munich to manage in England.

The former Barcelona boss recently announced he would not extend his contract when it expires at the end of this season as he want to coach in England

Guardiola, 44, has been linked with Premier League Clubs such as Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

He is Barcelona’s most successful manager with 14 trophies in four years, including three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues. Took a year’s break before joining Bayern in 2013, he won the league twice in his first two seasons with Bayern.

He is yet to win the UEFA Champions League with the German club and has been knocked out at the semi-final stage twice. They face Italian giants Juventus in the UEFA Champions League last 16 in February. Manchester City are the favourites to sign him.

Even though he’s leaving Bayern Munich he could join another massive club what a great opportunity!

Why I Love Top Gear!

Top Gear is my favourite show for a number of reasons:

  • I get to see my three favourite people in the world on Top Gear: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.
  • Top Gear is fun to watch, it shows the best cars in the world and it also shows old cars which are fun to watch when they are driven.

  • Top Gear is located at Dunsfold Aerodrome; it is a brilliant track to drive any car in and you can also drag race over there!!

  • You can watch it on lots of different TV channels.
  • They put new shows on and they show which car is the best and how fast they go; they also show how secure the handling of the car is.
  • You can see celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Daniel Craig and Usain Bolt being interviewed by Jeremy Clarkson. You can also see them racing cars to get the fastest time.

Rashad’s Review: Ronaldo – Beyond the Goal Machine (FBB)

Our very own resident Football Beyond Borders pundit and film critic and youth journalist, Rashad, reviews one of the most talked about films of the year: Ronaldo. It beats Goal!

When me and some of my peers were approached by our teacher Mr. Bateman who told us we would be going to a special premiere to watch a film about arguably the best footballer in the world – we were ecstatic!  But we didn’t expect it to be this good…

This film was a real eye opener about a footballer’s (Cristiano Ronaldo) life behind all of the exaggerated media.

The film was very intense and we couldn’t stop watching it. Rather than a goal machine who has no feelings, Ronaldo was portrayed as a real, fellow human being.

Even though he has a lot of money we learnt that he has had several emotional discomforts, including his father’s battle with alcoholism – Ronaldo said he hasn’t touched alcohol since – as well as his son not knowing his mother.

I felt like I got to know the great man himself with a close view of his relationship with his son, brother and mother.

Overall: I would give this movie a 10/10 as it was fabulous and I really enjoyed it.

FBB Head of Comms Tom Pez also gave me his thoughts on the experience:

“I enjoyed watching the film with five of our FBB Schools participants, who were given this amazing opportunity to watch and review the film before it was made public just as any journalists would. Although I’m more of a Messi fan myself, it was great to learn about Ronaldo’s story in more depth and I now look forward to reading the new book about him by our patron Guillem Balague. Although the film is very self-congratulatory, it also shows you the dark side of being one of the world’s top sportsmen and I certainly admire Ronaldo for being able to maintain such a high level despite of performance despite the constant public scrutiny he faces both on and off the pitch! I also had to applaud the way the film was shot & edited – the composition was fantastic!”

Will Mourinho Continue To Park The Bus At Stamford Bridge?

Will Jose Mourinho leave Chelsea after his poor season as manager so far?

The fans of Chelsea have mixed opinions with some wanting him to go and others wanting him to stay. Personally, I think that they would be a lot better without him. He has an amazing team but is struggling to use them to their full potential.

This is reflected by the finding that the majority of Chelsea players want José to leave the club according to football pundit Dietmar Hamann. Mourinho said “I will leave if my players want me to” hopefully for the team he sticks to his word.  Most recently his agent responded to the question of him leaving with a reply of “no chance.”

Recently, Mourinho was as fined £50,000 for saying referees were “afraid” to award his side penalties after playing against Southampton leading to a one match ban.

Hopefully for Mourinho the next game against Tottenham Hotspur will be a new beginning to this challenging season for Chelsea FC.

How I Got Into Fulham FC!

On 6th November 2015, I, Mohammed Almiseeabi, went to football trials at Fulham.

One week before, I was training with my old club and when I finished the training session, their coach grabbed me. He told me, “You have football trials for Fulham!” He gave me his phone number and told me to meet him at Oxford Circus.

On Friday 6th November he called me, he said to me that I had to meet him at Niketown at 3:30pm. I excitedly travelled to Niketown to meet the coach.

He took me to Fulham’s training ground in Motspur Park and I felt a bit nervous. The training ground was unbelievable: the grass was cut very well and the training ground was as big as a castle. I loved it.

When I finished the football trials I was happy. On 7th November, the coach called me at around 11:30. I answered. The coach said to me, “Mohammed, sorry you can’t play for Fulham”.

I said to him, “Oh no!” He talked to me again and said, “Mohammed, I pranked you; you’ll play for Fulham”.

I started to scream out with joy.
